The first part will be a non-spoiler review about The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald. This book followed the main character/narrator, Nick, and the relationships he makes as he goes through his life. The main relationships that he makes are with Daisy, Tom and Gatsby. This story is a very character driven story with lots of themes about society and love. This books message about society is that the Ideal American Dream is not possible. No one can have everything!
That is going to be the end of the non-spoiler section, so if you haven't read the book I would suggest reading it before I move on the spoilers.

My thoughts on this book is all over the place because it was a required reading. The beginning when you meet Nick was really slow placed so it took me a little longer to read. Back to the story at hand, it starts out by Nick giving the readers some life advice because he's narrating this story from the future. Like I said above this book is a very character driven novel, so before I get into the plot, I'll explain the characters. Daisy is the main love interest for Gatsby, but she's married to Tom. The book explains that she changed for the worst sense Gatsby last knew her. When she was young, she used to be free spirited and did what she wanted to. After she married Tom, she had the desire to became rich and famous. Her husband,Tom, is a cruel man through out the book and is always trying to pick fights, but in my opinion Daisy and him have the same dream. Tom is just more physical about it. The main plot is about Gatsby trying to get Daisy to fall back in love with him. The last few pages is when the main conflict happened because Daisy ran someone over with Gatsby's car, but he took the blame. After the husband found out he killed Gatsby in his pool because of Daisy's actions. The final part of the book was when Nick talked about leaving that town behind after Gatsby's funeral.
If you guys read this book, what did you think about it?
