Reading Rush TBR

Hello everyone, welcome to another ambitious TBR that I probably won’t finish but I try to read all the things. How do you guys do on TBR’s. Okay back to the reason for this post, the Reading Rush is coming up, it starts on July 20th which is next Monday. I’ll link the website from the creators below to explain more about it. https://www.thereadingrush.com/challenges

The first challenge is to read a book that is the same color of your birthstone. My birthstone is a light blue so the book I choose is Book by Book by Micheal Dirda. This is a nonfiction book about a conversation between two readers which is the author and the person reading the book.

The next challenge is to read a book that

starts with the word “THE”! I want to try to read The Game of Sunken Places by Matthew Tobin Anderson. This book is a middle grade which I want to start reading more of. This book is about two boys in their teen years that visit their uncle's creepy mansion, at least that's what I think it's about.

The third challenge is reading a book inspired by a movie that you’ve seen. For this the movie that I’ve seen is Hocus Pocus which is my favorite Halloween movie of all time and it makes me so happy, which I need in my life right now. The book is called, Hocus Pocus and The All New Sequel. I don’t know much about the book but the movie was about a brother and sister exploring an abandoned house and releasing three famous witches.

The fourth challenge is the first book

you’ve touched. I haven’t exactly done this challenge the way that they wanted but I interpreted it in my own way. Before I touched any of my books I touched my phone which means I chose one of my E-books because I wanted to read it really badly. That E-book is Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo which is the third and final book in the Grisha Trilogy. I loved Leigh Bardugo and her writing so I’m excited to get to this book.

The fifth challenge is Read a book completely outside. I chose a shorter book for this one: The Loop by Shandy Lawson. This book is about two characters, Maggie and Ben who fall in love but they also die together over and over again.

The sixth challenge is Read a book from a genre that you're not used to. I don’t read a lot of fiction set in another society based off of the real world so for this challenge I will be reading Out by Laura Preble. This book is about a society where straight couples are outlawed but a boy and girl end up falling in love. I found this interesting so I hope to get around to it this week.

The final challenge is to read a book from a different continent. I choose a book that is set in Japan during the Japanese occupation and the Koran war, and it is called The Voices of Heaven by Maija Rhee Devine.

These are the books I’m planning to read next week, but these are just plans. Are you guys planning to participate in the Reading Rush. If so, what do you plan on reading?
