Mid-Year Wrap Up

Favorite Book Of the Year

My favorite book of this year was Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalo. This book was so good and it made me want to continue on with the series and it showed more of Thomas's past which was actually really interesting. The romance in this book was also really realistic where both characters were super snarky but they did not always get along.

Worst Book of the Year

I read a lot of interesting and fantastic books this year so the book I was going to mention is not bad but not one of my favorites. That book is The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien which I gave a three stars. Its not a bad book and I love the characters but I feel like nothing really happened but I'm hoping that the third book is going to be way better

Most Surprising

My most surprising book from this year so far is The Selection by Kiera Cass. When I first started this book I thought it was going to be some cheesy romance novel but it was so much more than a typical romance novel. It talking about doing whats best for your country when in power, family drama, and even friend ships.

Most Disappointing

My most disappointing read was To make Monsters out of Girls by Amanda Lovelace. I loved Amanda Lovelace's first series, Women are a type of magic, but this collection did not have the same level of poetry. The drawings are beautiful, but I still prefer her first collection, but this one is still a descent collection, just not one of my all time favorites.

Conclusion

My reading year has been really good books but I have not read as much because a lot has been going on in personal life. Up to this point I've read 24 books and 3 of them has been rereads. I'm hoping to try to get to 50 books by the end of the year because that's 5 more than I read last year.

How many books have you read this year? What is your reading goal by the end of the year? Let me know!
