Hello everyone, this is the beginning of my new series about the books I read in 2018. If you have ever read any of the books I will be talking about, let me know what your opinions are.
Here are my top 5 Books I read in 2018:
5.) My fifth favorite book is Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King! This book was given a four stars and my favorite book out of the series. All of the characters are important and described really well. The reader is able to get into the mind of the serial killer in this book. The plot of this book is a serial killer runs over a bunch of people at a job fair in a stolen Mercedes. Then years later the main character, Hodges, goes after the killer when he retires.
4.) My fourth favorite book is Heretics Anonymous by Katie Henry. This book was a comedy and I loved the humor, which is one of the reasons I gave it a full five stars. Before you go into the book, I want to let you know the main character is an atheist and the humor is not for everyone. This book is about an atheist who is sent to a christian school. He meets many friends a long the the way that are very different from each other, whether its by religion or sexuality. Katie Henry was able to add humor to the tough topics, but still discussing how important they are.
3.) Time for my top three favorite book, My third favorite book is As Old As Time by Liz Braswell. This is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast and it was really well done. This story had many twist and turns and I loved the plot twist at the end. My favorite part about this story was learning more about Belle's mom and her families past.
My second favorite book of this year was Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I read this book in one day and really enjoyed it. This is a romance book but it also talks about being in the closet. The plot of this book is Simon talking to Blue on email, in secrete because no one else knows that he's gay. Through out the book Simon is trying to find out Blue's true identity.
My favorite book of this year is a poetry collection. This book is the princess saves herself in this one by Amanda Lovelace. This book was really inspirational because it was one of the first modern poetry that I have ever read. This book discussed many important topic that could be triggering to some people.
